Thanks to the 44 Patriots who attended our free Tea Party Movie screening, we have doubled our attendance since our organizational meeting, just three weeks ago. Please take a few moments to comment and share your impressions of the movie.
Thank you to everyone who adjusted their schedules to accomodate our time change and to the Morehead City Tea Party Patriots for driving our direction this time! Special thanks to Roma and Edith for so graciously donating their portion of our raffle back to help build our operating funds.
Our next event will be Saturday, March 27, Carolina Pines (Township Six) fire station -- a hugely FUN (with a purpose...) sign-making party. Which you will need if you plan to attend a local Tax Day Tea Party Protest or the DC Protest. If you can't attend an April 15th protest, you can still join us in our sign-making. Just send your creation out with another protester.
Watch this blog for start time. Plan to bring posters, markers, creativity and enthusiasm. We'll cover calendar and basic business items, too.

Health Care Summit -- Flood Your Representatives with Calls
NONE of the health care proposals meet Tea Party core values and philosophy and this latest sham is no different.
Fiscal responsibility: NO
Constitutionally limited government: NO
Free markets: NO
Even the dems are jumping ship on Obama's health care "bill." Call your representatives today and let them know you STILL do not want this monstrosity that will not only damage the quality of health care, but will KILL our economy.

Observations from the Netherlands, Read Last Man Standing (top tab) First
Received this from a friend on the west coast. Yes, there ARE conservatives on the other coast. The letter below is from his friend who lives in the Netherlands and was replying to questions whether the Islamic threat is as dire as we perceive it to be. The answers and observations should be chilling to the entire world. May I recommend Jihad Watch as an exceptional source of information. Issues you will never see reported in the MSM, even though the express goal is to turn Europe into Eurasia. Perhaps Patriots 28560 needs to add National Security to our core values.
Observations from the Netherlands.
... But will now at long last focus on Geert Wilders' observations.
Your question: Is it this dire? My anwer: Very much so, or perhaps even worse. Lots and lots of new 'incidents' since November, I absolutely share your worries...
Here a link to a February 5th 2010 YouTube-posting by Pat Condell on the courtcase against Geert Wilders, pretty much for saying nothing else than Winston Churchill already said more than half a century ago. Pat has a way of putting things, I can't find fault in any of it though:
And here a link to a clip from February 11th 2010. Even though it is in Dutch, you should be clearly able to register what's happening. A Dutch TV-crew was doing a piece in the Belgian capital Brussels, where cops had been severely injured after they were shot at with AK47s in what is considered a 'Muslim-part-of-town-hence-no-go-area'. The Dutch crew witnessed how two Belgian policemen try to arrest a suspected pickpocketer, who is then set free by his comrades. No, in Amsterdam, Brussels or Paris the police is not allowed to use their guns for anything other than direct self(!)-life-threatening situations, because that would clearly only escalate things... Letting people get away with in NO way respecting the law is what it comes down to day in and day out for most people patrolling our capitals, as well as in more and more smaller cities. Anyway, when the youth that has just overpowered the police spots the Dutch TV-crew, they obviously come after them. Needless to say the police can't do much about that, cause THEIR lives ar not at stake. What was this Dutch crew thinking in the first place? Did they have the idea they were in a free country or so??? What REALLY might interest you though, is that as far as I know this was NOT (I repeat, NOT!!!) aired on the Dutch news. Of course not, as a TV-station you run the very serious risk of being pursued for 'fuelling tensions' of 'spreading hatred' when bringing this up, just like Geert Wilders had the unnerving guts to do...

America Saves Week, February 21-28
As concerned citizens, we want our government, at all levels, to spend less, spend wisely and spend based on a balanced budget. Many of us use a written bugdet, most don't spend money we don't have. Government should do the same.
America Saves and Military Saves Week were instituted in 2007, the military campaign sanctioned and supported by the Department of Defense, to encourage individuals and families to save more.
Military Saves supports our troops and their families by involving all levels of leadership in an intentional, sustained effort to create a culture that encourages servicemembers to save and build wealth and avoid the downward spiral of debt. Changing our financial culture is a formidable task and requires everyone to take personal responsibility for adopting a "Military Saver" lifestyle.
Click here to take the Saver Pledge. Links will take you to the America Saves pledge, too. The entire America Saves and Military Saves site contains excellent information.
Please be sure to share, especially with younger families who can benefit so much by budgeting and becoming fiscally responsible at a young age.
Their commitment to personal fiscal responsibility will insure they hold our government to the same standard.

Anti-Tea Party Web Site Part of Scheme to Funnel Funds
Anti-Tea Party Web Site Part of Scheme to Funnel Funds
Joseph Abrams - FOXNews.com
February 09, 2010
A new Web site targeting the tea parties is a part of a complex network of money flowing from the mountainous coffers of the country's biggest labor unions and trickling slowly into political slush funds for Democratic activists.
A seemingly grassroots organization that's mounted an online campaign to counter the tea party movement is actually the front end of an elaborate scheme that funnels funds -- including sizable labor union contributions -- through the offices of a prominent Democratic party lawyer.
A Web site popped up in January dedicated to preventing the tea party's "radical" and "dangerous" ideas from "gaining legislative traction," targeting GOP candidates in Illinois for the firing squad.
"This movement is a fad," proclaims TheTeaPartyIsOver.org, which was established by the American Public Policy Center (APPC), a D.C.-based campaign shop that few people have ever heard of.
But a close look reveals the APPC's place in a complex network of money flowing from the mountainous coffers of the country's biggest labor unions into political slush funds for Democratic activists.

Full Text of Gov. Chris Christie's speech on fiscal 'state of emergency'
More states should follow suit. And this is a template that we can reference when we contact our representatives. Not only the plan, but also the massive change that occurred with Christie's election as a republican governor of an overwhelmingly blue state. Stop taxing and spending. American families live on a budget. The federal (and state) government should, too. Get on board or we'll vote you out in November. Check out the election countdown calendar in the left-hand column.

Matt Rainey/The Star-LedgerGov. Chris Christie declares a state of emergency in a major budget speech today, laying the groundwork to make a range of cuts that will include $475 million in withheld state aid to schools.Mr. President, Madame Speaker, members of the Senate and Assembly, fellow citizens of New Jersey.
Twenty three days ago, I was honored to take the oath of office as your governor and promised you and the people of New Jersey a new direction.
The old ways of doing business have not served the people well, I said, and I asked for your help in bringing about change.
Today, I have called you together because it is time to take the first major – and urgent -- step in delivering the change we promised, in the critically important area of the state budget.

Wisconsin Billboard Calls for Obama's Ouster
From NBCChicago.com. Reported February 15, 2010. Paid for by an unnamed company -- sentiments that Washington politics are bad for small business.
Company owner very likely a Tea Party Patriot since his view fits perfectly with our tenets of fiscal responsibility, constitutionally limited government and free markets. All three under fire from this administration.

A Warning to the Tea Party Nation, Chuck Baldwin
Constitution Party 2008 Presidential Candidate
Original article published 02/12/10 on Constitution Party website
As far as grassroots activism goes, the surge in Tea Parties across America is one of the more encouraging developments to recently take place. It reminds me of the "Conservative Revolution" of 1994, when the GOP reclaimed both the US Senate and House of Representatives. At that time, it had been over 40 years since the Republican Party controlled both the US House and Senate. And, between the two, the House victories were the most significant.
Spurred mostly by the election of Bill Clinton in 1992, a host of young, energetic freshman Republicans marched into Washington, D.C., determined to return a burgeoning and out-of-control federal leviathan to the constitutional precepts of limited government. I’m talking about then-freshman House members such as Helen Chenoweth, Steve Largent, Bob Barr, Joe Scarborough, Sonny Bono, John Shadegg, J.C. Watts, etc. These young conservatives went to Washington, D.C., determined to reduce the growth and size of the federal government.
The vehicle used to transport these young conservatives from grassroots activism to US House and Senate seats was the highly touted "Contract with America" (CWA), which was orchestrated by House Speaker-to-be, Newt Gingrich. The CWA included a promise to the American people that if they would give the GOP a majority in Congress, they would eliminate up to 5 federal departments--such as the Departments of Energy and Education--and many federal agencies.
Obviously, not only did the GOP-controlled Congress not eliminate a single federal department or agency--or even shrink the size of the federal government at all--it expanded the size and scope of the federal government at every level. And there is one reason for it: Big Government neocons posing as champions of conservatism co-opted and destroyed the Conservative Revolution of 1994.
If one wants to put names to these treasonous wretches (and I do), I’m talking about charlatans such as Newt Gingrich and Trent Lott. Anyone who thinks that Newt Gingrich is a real conservative or that he will do anything to reduce the size and scope of the federal government needs to speak with any of those Republican members of the freshman class of 1994. (Sadly, too, some of the members of that great freshman class went on to become Big Government toadies themselves. Such is the power of that Putrid Province by the Potomac.)
The Tea Parties of 2010 remind me very much of the Conservative Revolution of 1994. And if the Tea Party Nation is not very careful, they will succumb to the same fate. The signs of a silent takeover of the movement are already appearing.

Coordinating With Morehead City Tea Party Patriots
Lillian and I attended Morehead City Tea Party Patriots Tuesday evening meeting. I counted 41 in attendance, we had heard that they were ready to outgrow Cox Restaurant, and they are! Hope we can create as much excitement and success with our new group. Of those in attendance, fully half had made the trek to DC for the 912 March. That event was my first experience with the MC Tea Party Patriots and I'm very glad I found them.
We provided their members a brief overview of who we are, how many were at our first meeting, and expressed our desire to coordinate for local and national events. We hope to have quite a few MC TPPs join us at our FREE Tea Party Movie screening. They're hard at work on their April 15th rally and will likely show the movie after that event. We invited their members to come see it with us, then take friends and see it again in Morehead City. It's that good, you will want to see it again, and share with family and friends.

We Are Organized and Ready to Roll!
Our organizational meeting was a success with 21 concerned citizens in attendance. Surveys, business cards and agendas were provided upon sign-in.
Protest signs from last year's New Bern Tax Day Tea Party were on display as well as signs from the Americans for Prosperity Hands Off my Healthcare Bus Tour, August last year. The 912 March on the Capitol, October 2 Americans for Prosperity annual meeting and grassroots training, November 5 Capitol House Call, and December 15 Code Red Rally. A copy of our February 7, 2010 agenda has been posted and linked in right-hand column.
Seven new members will be adding to this blog content as part of our cadre of commentators. We have permissions for up to 100 guest authors. Have something you'd like to contribute? Please join us, then blog away. If you're not ready to take that first step as a new blogger, please comment on our posts and advance the discussion and discourse.
Our next event will be Saturday, February 27, a 2 p.m. FREE matinee screening of Tea Party: The Documentary Film. We were fortunate to see a preview of the Tea Party Movie on the charter buses to the Code Red Rally December 15 -- and it is exceptional.
The February 27 screening is a nationwide event to celebrate the one-year anniversary of the Tea Party Movement and to emphasize that in spite of main stream media reports to the contrary, the movement is alive, well and LOCAL.
An RSVP link for the Tea Party Movie has been added, top left column. Plan to join us. And bring five friends as well as enough popcorn and soft drinks to satisfy your family!
Please watch for our press release that will be provided to various local media.
