Honoring Those Who Have Fallen

Tea Parties are Forming Throughout the World. Will HR 5175, the DISCLOSE Act, be the End of Our Freedom of Speech?

Be sure to follow the links to the Italian and Dutch Tea Party's Facebook pages. Very interesting discussion going on about unions... how they function in America and how they function in Italy. For those who claim that Social Media is not effective -- where else could you find a dialogue between citizens of two independent nations -- a dialogue that is (for now, at least) uncensored and open to all to follow, research, and contribute content.

Can you imagine? The Tea Party began in Boston, resurfaced as a result of tyranny over two centuries later, spread from coast-to-coast, and is now responsible for exporting freedom back to the very genesis of our Nation with Britain's first tea party a few weeks ago. We are NOT going away.

We are not going away, with this caveat: the democrats have introduced the DISCLOSE Act (HR 5175).

Under the DISCLOSE Act, certain incorporated entities would be restricted in how they can exercise their free speech rights. There is an exemption for some in the media sphere like newspapers, TV news, and the like. However, there is one driving force in today’s public debate that is NOT exempt. Bloggers will not have the same exemption provided to other media sources. Never mind that the Supreme Court’s opinion in the Citizens United case stated, “Differential treatment of media corporations and other corporations cannot be squared with the First Amendment.”

Click here to read the complete article at BigGovernment.com. Then call, write, email and VISIT your representatives to let them know you oppose the DISCLOSE Act that will abolish freedom of speech. Unless, of course, your speech supports progressive thought, ie., socialism, marxism, obamaism. Statism.

We are losing our Nation as I blog this. At least I can still blog without fear of retribution. But for how long?

Louisiana Congressman Breaks Down During Hearing

This video of Rep Charlie Melancon (D LA) is very hard to watch, mainly because of this public servant's obvious distress and concern for his constituents, his state, and the environment. If you can watch without crying with him, you are stronger than I...

It's even harder to watch if you've seen any part of Obama's news conference yesterday. He was detached, distanced, disdainful of any impact of the spill except that which affects him personally.

To say that I am concerned for the future of our Nation is an understatement. I am also sad that Americans have elected an Alinskyite, Cloward-Piven "leader" who looks to every crisis as an opportunity to further undermine our Constitution and consolidate power in Washington.

Kevin Costner Leads Pack of 23,500 With Gulf Oil Cleanup Ideas

May 27 (Bloomberg) -- Last week in the Gulf of Mexico, actor Kevin Costner sparked headlines when he unveiled a device that appears to do a fine job of cleaning oil out of water. Some commentators seized the opportunity to make “Waterworld” jokes, but BP Plc took his machine seriously enough to be testing it this week.

“This is why Costner is so passionate about it,” said fellow actor Stephen Baldwin on the telephone. “Because it really works.” Baldwin, who is producing-directing a documentary about the oil catastrophe titled “Will to Drill,” filmed the demonstration.

Costner has spent $24 million of his own cash over the past 15 years to finance development of the device, which uses centrifugal force to spin the crude out of the water.

Estimating the size of the slick has been problematic, not least because the often-cited “5000 barrels a day” gushing from the sea floor might be low-balling the actual figure by 90,000 barrels, according to congressional testimony heard last week.

Gate Crasher Analogy

If you had tickets to a sports event, concert, Disneyland, or on an airplane, and when you got to your assigned seat, and someone else was in that seat, what would you do? You would call for a person in charge of ticket checking and have the person in your seat removed. You would be properly asked to show your ticket, and you would gladly and proudly do so, for you have bought and paid for that seat. The person in your seat would also be asked for a ticket, and they would not be able to produce one. They would be called “gate crashers” and they would be properly removed.

Now in this huge stadium called the USA we have had millions of gate crashers. We have been asking security to check for tickets and remove the gate crashers. We have been asking security to have better controls in checking at the door. We have asked security to lock the back doors. Security has failed us. They are still looking the other way. They are afraid to ask to see the tickets. Many people say there is unlimited seating, and whether there is or not, no one should be allowed in for free while the rest of us pay full price!

In section AZ, of Stadium USA, we have had enough of the failures of Security. We have decided to do our own ticket checking, and properly remove those who do not have tickets. Now it seems very strange to me that so many people in the other 49 sections, and even many in our own section do not want tickets checked, or even be asked to show their ticket! Even the head of Security is chastising us, while not doing his own job which he has sworn to do.

My own ticket has been bought and paid for so I am going to proudly show it when asked to do so. I have a right to my seat, and I want the gate crashers to be asked to show their tickets too. The only reason that I can imagine anyone objecting to being asked for their ticket is that they are in favor of gate crashing, and all of the illegal activities that go with it. Such as drug smuggling, gang wars, murder, human smuggling for profit, and many more illegal and inhumane acts that we are trying to prevent with our new legislation. Is that what I am hearing from all of the protestors such as Phoenix Mayor Gordon, US Rep. Grijalva, even President Obama? If you are not in favor of showing tickets, (proof of citizenship, passport, green card, or other legal document) when asked, as I would proudly do, then you must be condoning those illegal activities.
