Tea Parties are Forming Throughout the World. Will HR 5175, the DISCLOSE Act, be the End of Our Freedom of Speech?

Be sure to follow the links to the Italian and Dutch Tea Party's Facebook pages. Very interesting discussion going on about unions... how they function in America and how they function in Italy. For those who claim that Social Media is not effective -- where else could you find a dialogue between citizens of two independent nations -- a dialogue that is (for now, at least) uncensored and open to all to follow, research, and contribute content.

Can you imagine? The Tea Party began in Boston, resurfaced as a result of tyranny over two centuries later, spread from coast-to-coast, and is now responsible for exporting freedom back to the very genesis of our Nation with Britain's first tea party a few weeks ago. We are NOT going away.

We are not going away, with this caveat: the democrats have introduced the DISCLOSE Act (HR 5175).

Under the DISCLOSE Act, certain incorporated entities would be restricted in how they can exercise their free speech rights. There is an exemption for some in the media sphere like newspapers, TV news, and the like. However, there is one driving force in today’s public debate that is NOT exempt. Bloggers will not have the same exemption provided to other media sources. Never mind that the Supreme Court’s opinion in the Citizens United case stated, “Differential treatment of media corporations and other corporations cannot be squared with the First Amendment.”

Unless, of course, your speech supports progressive thought, ie., socialism, marxism, obamaism. Statism.

We are losing our Nation as I blog this. At least I can still blog without fear of retribution. But for how long?
