Giving Thanks This Day (See Lincoln's Proclamation below)

This is an original 1863 illustration by Thomas Nast of "Thanksgiving Day, 1863." The image shows scenes of importance to this critical period in our Nation's History. The image show a nation in earnest prayer. Our founding fathers, our political leaders, our military leaders, emancipated slaves, and the destitute are all seen lifting their prayers before God. In the center, we see a dramatic image of Columbia (Lady Liberty) kneeling in prayer. This is a touching illustration, and an important reminder of the critical role that prayer played in the history of our Nation.

Lincoln's Thanksgiving Proclamation

Washington, DC—October 3, 1863

The year that is drawing toward its close has been filled with the blessings of fruitful fields and healthful skies. To these bounties, which are so constantly enjoyed that we are prone to forget the source from which they come, others have been added which are of so extraordinary a nature that they can not fail to penetrate and soften even the heart which is habitually insensible to the ever-watchful providence of Almighty God.

In the midst of a civil war of unequaled magnitude and severity, which has sometimes seemed to foreign states to invite and to provoke their aggression, peace has been preserved with all nations, order has been maintained, the laws have been respected and obeyed, and harmony has prevailed everywhere, except in the theater of military conflict, while that theater has been greatly contracted by the advancing armies and navies of the Union.

2. the state of fear and submission produced by terrorism or terrorization.
3. a terroristic method of governing or of resisting a government.

People are intimated, coerced and in a state of fear and submission based upon TSA actions and threats.

I fly for business several times each month and am concerned about TSA's new "enhanced security" methods for several reasons: safety, privacy, ineffective procedures, and most importantly, the procedures are a violation of my Fourth Amendment rights.

The Backscatter X-Ray Scanners, aka Porno Scanners have not been adequately tested for health impact and the safety data cited is provided by the machine's manufacturers' and government contractors who are in many cases, former administration officials. Providers of the machines have a vested financial interest in their deployment.
