Berlin is worth a trip. Especially today. Especially here. Because here and now an important signal is being given to the peoples of Europe. The signal for a European Spring! To offset the autumn mood in the EU. So that, instead of the mood of doom, finally a mood of awakening will come. An awakening in the name of freedom!

Yes, yes, cherished FREIHEIT! That is also the name of the party here in Germany that offers an alternative to bureaucratism, centralism, loss of democracy, uncontrolled immigration and Islamization. An alternative to self-destruction.

My dear Berlin friends, I come to you today as a neighbor. And as a concerned friend.

Since I am a citizen of a small country which is put under greater and greater pressure by the EU, it is near to my heart to support the truly democratic forces in the EU conglomerate. Only if these forces prevail can I hope that the Great Power pretensions of the EU will be abandoned and its relationship to Switzerland will at last be shaped in the way it should be between civilized and respectful neighbors.

Freedom is one of the democratic forces I count on. But why does the EU exert this kind of massive pressure — economically, financially and politically — on my country? Is it arrogance? Greed? Envy? All of those may apply, but the true reason lies deeper.

The EUSSR will no longer tolerate the existence of a small country in the heart of the continent, whose people still want to decide their own fate. A prudent, little bit of a folk that has thus far withstood the over-indebtedness which is playing hell with the states reined in by globalization.

For that is the goal of all global financial institutions and international monetary funds: The weakening of nation-states in order to lead them to their dubious “good fortune.” The wealth of peoples is destroyed en masse, so that the weakened states can be reduced to willing agents of a global dogma.

We Swiss hate every form of paternalism! We want no patronizing, no foreign judges! Our citizens are independent and imaginative enough to take their fate into their own hands.

Just picture this: On the southern border of Germany is a country in which 53% of the people have voted for deportation of criminal aliens; a land in which every minor rise in the VAT must be approved by referendum. Who is surprised that the VAT is still at 8% in Switzerland while it has reached 20% in the EU?

A study by the French economic expert Yvan Blot demonstrates that where stateaffairs are voted on directly and democratically, the rates of duties and taxes are on average 30% lower than where state affairs are decided exclusively on administrative and policy grounds.

We watch our own wallets more carefully than other people’s money. There lies the future of the continent. Not in further expansion of a bureaucratic and centralized monster that will one day swallow its own children.

In Switzerland, the power is still in the hands of the people. We Helvetians were able to vote on entry to the EU… and wisely looked the other way. In retrospect, this decision has proven to be a great good fortune.

How did that work in Germany? Elites distanced from the people decided for the people. The same elite who introduced the euro, which, at one blow, caused a 30% loss of purchasing power for the average German citizen.

In Switzerland, the possible introduction of the euro had to be approved by the people. You can just picture the result.

Of course, the strong Franc would then be no problem for our export economy, but we would be stuck in the euro trap like the others and would have to bleed financially for a completely broken-down statist system, just as the German taxpayer has been doing for years. Better to stay flexible and economically independent.

Direct democracy means that the optional or obligatory referendum underlies every law proposed by parliament, and nothing can be decided over the heads of the people. Direct democracy means that determined citizens can launch initiatives with 100,000 signatures, which must be put before the people. This gives political decisions much greater legitimacy than the usual parliamentary resolutions. No one in Switzerland would think of questioning a decision by referendum which was approved by 50-70%. What the people have decided is valid and everyone has to adhere to that, Period. Even the administration. Especially the administration.

That is how it was with the famous/notorious anti-minaret initiative in which I was the anti-muezzin. 58% of the Swiss population decided in November, 2009 to prevent the occupation of public space by the dominating symbols of a religious dogma.

This decision by the last free population in Europe had a signal effect. In its wake, decisions were made about the veiling of women in France and Belgium and the construction of a Saudi-financed giant mosque in Norway was prevented. The dhimmi attitude of Europeans sustained a wound which must not heal over, if the millennia-old European civilization is to survive.

For Europe is more than a plot of land, more than a continent, more than the sum of its countries. Europe is an idea, a cultural landscape, an intellectual space shaped by history. Europa is the cradle of the modern constitutional state, the treasure-house of human rights, of freedom of opinion and expression.

This is ever more strongly endangered by the possibility that our political elite will bend their necks before a religious dogma that is alien to our intellectual history, our values and our constitutional state.This dogma is gnawing away at the pillars of our system of laws, wherever it is allowed some space.

This dogma demands total obedience from its followers. They are in no case to integrate into our value system. That would be like treason and can even be punished with death. They are expected to conquer our intellectual home, make the Western world subject. Not with tanks, rockets or riflemen. Not through brutal revolution.

No, Islam is in no hurry. It has an eternity.

A long process of softening up and leisurely occupation of our weakening, child-poor society is foreseen.

The Islamic doctrine is expected to gradually creep into everyday life and Fortress Europe will crumble from within. Just think of how the Serbs lost Kosovo. Through demographic development and the help of NATO, which brought about the founding of the first Islamic state on European ground. What an ominous sign.The Islamic dogma is succeeding everywhere. In Turkey, the Islamists are gradually occupying all judicial and army posts, in order to obliterate the heritage of Kemal Atatürk. Lebanon will become an Islamic state in the next decades, The Arab Spring is on the point of being taken over by the Islamists. In Iraq, in Egypt and in Pakistan, the last Christian communities are facing extinction,

And what are we doing? We are allowing this violent doctrine, unhindered in cultural ghettos, to strain at toppling the nation of laws. We just shrug our shoulders when girls are forced into marriage and Muslims willing to integrate are pressured and threatened. When women are beaten and whole city districts are taken over, we look the other way.

We believe we can soften the power hunger of the holy warriors with welfare money.We believe we can buy peace! What lunacy! No one fingers the Prophet’s beard. Fanatics cannot be bought. Germany should know that better than any other country in the world.

My dear friends in the audience, we are not fighting against people, we are fighting for people! We are fighting against a dogma that is anathema to every aspect of humanity and would like to lead us back into barbarism. We do not intend to give up the freedom we have fought so hard for over the centuries.

Dear Berliners, here I stand, and I cannot do otherwise, lest soon no human being in this Europe will be able to take the responsibility for what represents the pillar of our culture, of our system of law and of our humanity: transcendent, unconditional love of neighbor.

If we lose this battle, there will be no second chance, for Islam does not give back what it has conquered. So I summon all the humanists of this continent not to keep their heads in the sand and to resist the Islamic dogma’s drive to conquest. Let us stand together and uncompromisingly insist upon the primacy of our civil law over any religious dogma. Let us find our way back to our precious intellectual heritage.

Islam is only as strong as we are weak.

Let us oppose it with more than McDonald’s, soap operas, stupefying TV programs and brutal video games. Our culture has so much more to offer. Let us get back to depth and endurance, to organic growth. Let us stay alert and critical, so long as even a grain of Socrates lives on in us. Let us no longer subject our spirit to the dictates of the material. Only that way can we prevent brutal power politics being spread in the name of religion. Only that way do we have chance to leave our children a peaceful Europe, shaped by respect and dignity.

Some reports indicate the cameras were being used by democratic activists, hoping to post on YouTube to embarrass the congressman based upon his answers to constituent questions. It appears the congressman is quite competent to impeach his oath of office to, "protect and defend the Constitution" and in so doing, embarrass himself.

Much is being made by the left that it was a republican elected official who directed police to confiscate democratic activists' cameras. There was a sign posted that cameras were not allowed for security purposes, supposedly to protect the privacy of individuals attending the event. There were two film crews streaming live. The privacy canard will not work.

I do not care whether it's a liberal, conservative or Martian visitor who holds the camera. It is a public building. The congressman is paid with taxpayers' money. It is not against the law to film a public event. If this illegal restriction is being employed against the left, it will also be used against Constitutional Conservatives.

We are frighteningly close to a police state.

Firefighters douse a building destroyed in the initial rioting in Tottenham, North London In the wake of Britain's riots, a group of American radicals are planning a "Day of Rage" targeting Wall Street and U.S. capitalism.

The upcoming protests, replete with a planned tent city in downtown Manhattan, is closely tied to the founders of ACORN and leaders of major U.S. unions, including the Service Employees International Union, or SEIU.

There are indications the protesters are training to incite violence, resist arrest and disrupt the legal system. The protest aims to take root nationwide.

Activists are advertising on social network sites such as Facebook and Twitter for a "Day of Rage" on Sept. 17 to begin with the "occupation" of Wall Street and continue with protests across the nation.

Read about the "ballot box stuffers," "urban terrorists," "gangsters" and others who make up "Obama's favorite community organizing group," in "Subversion Inc."

Planners have their own website – USDayofRage.org – which tells protesters to "bring your own tent."

The website is not specific about the purpose of the "Day of Rage" other than calling for "integrity" to be "restored to our elections."

The site accuses corporations of using "money to act as the voices of millions, while individual citizens, the legitimate voters, are silenced and demoralized by the farce."

Advertisements claim the protests at Wall Street and nationwide will be "non-violent."

However, the official website provides resources, including videos and detailed written instructions, for protesters to engage in "civil disobedience."

The resources provided include instructions on how to resist police arrest and disrupt court hearings. Similar instructions are provided on the website of an affiliated organization, which calls itself "Occupy Wall Street" and is also involved in planning the Sept. 17 protests.

While I don't agree with every sentiment in the Unified Patriots opinion piece, it does merit sharing. I do not like many of Governor Perry's actions, re: illegal immigration. I am in total agreement with the author's over-arching theme that our main goal MUST be to insure that Obama is not reelected next year. Given the current GOP choices, I believe Perry provides the best opportunity to take back the White House.

"Winston, come into the dining room, it's time to eat," Julia yelled to her husband. "In a minute, honey, it's a tie score," he answered.

Actually Winston wasn't very interested in the traditional holiday football game between Detroit and Washington. Ever since the government passed the Civility in Sports Statute of 2017, outlawing tackle football for its "unseemly violence" and the "bad example it sets for the rest of the world", Winston was far less of a football fan than he used to be. Two-hand touch wasn't nearly as exciting.

Yet it wasn't the game that Winston was uninterested in. It was more the thought of eating another Tofu Turkey. Even though it was the best type of VeggieMeat available after the government revised the American Anti-Obesity Act of 2018, adding fowl to the list of federally-forbidden foods, (which already included potatoes, cranberry sauce, and mincemeat pie), it wasn't anything like real turkey.

And ever since the government officially changed the name of "Thanksgiving Day" to "A National Day of Atonement" in 2020, to officially acknowledge the Pilgrims' historically brutal treatment of Native Americans, the holiday had lost a lot of its luster. Eating in the dining room was also a bit daunting. The unearthly gleam of government-mandated fluorescent light bulbs made the Tofu Turkey look even weirder than it actually was, and the room was always cold.

Ever since Congress passed the Power Conservation Act of 2016, mandating all thermostats - which were monitored and controlled by the electric company - be kept at 68 degrees, every room on the north side of the house was barely tolerable throughout the entire winter. Still, it was good getting together with family. Or at least most of the family.

Winston missed his mother, who passed on in October, when she had used up her legal allotment of life-saving medical treatment. He had had many heated conversations with the Regional Health Consortium, spawned when the private insurance market finally went bankrupt, and everyone was forced into the government health care program.

And though he demanded she be kept on her treatment, it was a futile effort. "The RHC's resources are limited", explained the government bureaucrat Winston spoke with on the phone. "Your mother received all the benefits to which she was entitled. I'm sorry for your loss."
Ed couldn't make it either. He had forgotten to plug in his electric car last night, the only kind available after the Anti-Fossil Fuel Bill of 2021 outlawed the use of the combustion engines - for everyone but government officials. The fifty mile round trip was about ten miles too far, and Ed didn't want to spend a frosty night on the road somewhere between here and there.

Thankfully, Winston's brother, John, and his wife were flying in. Winston made sure that the dining room chairs had extra cushions for the occasion. No one complained more than John about the pain of sitting down so soon after the government-mandated cavity searches at airports, which severely aggravated his hemorrhoids.

Ever since a terrorist successfully smuggled a cavity bomb onto a jetliner, the TSA told Americans the added "inconvenience" was an "absolute necessity" in order to stay "one step ahead of the terrorists."

Winston's own body had grown accustomed to such probing ever since the government expanded their scope to just about anywhere a crowd gathered, via the Anti-Profiling Act of 2022. That law made it a crime to single out any group or individual for "unequal scrutiny," even when probable cause was involved. Thus, cavity searches at malls, train stations, bus depots, etc., etc., had become almost routine. Almost.

The Supreme Court is reviewing the statute, but most Americans expect a Court composed of six progressives and three conservatives to leave the law intact. "A living Constitution is extremely flexible", said the Court's eldest member, Elena Kagan. "Europe has had laws like this one for years. We should learn from their example,” she added.

Winston's thoughts turned to his own children. He got along fairly well with his 12-year-old daughter, Brittany, mostly because she ignored him. Winston had long ago surrendered to the idea that she could text anyone at any time, even during Atonement Dinner. Their only real confrontation had occurred when he limited her to 50,000 texts a month, explaining that was all he could afford. She whined for a week, but got over it.

His 16-year-old son, Jason, was another matter altogether. Perhaps it was the constant bombarding he got in public school that global warming, the bird flu, terrorism, or any of a number of other calamities were "just around the corner,” but Jason had developed a kind of nihilistic attitude that ranged between simmering surliness and outright hostility.

It didn't help that Jason had reported his father to the police for smoking a cigarette in the house, an act made criminal by the Smoking Control Statute of 2018, which outlawed smoking anywhere within 500 feet of another human being. Winston paid the $5,000 fine, which might have been considered excessive before the American dollar became virtually worthless as a result of QE13.

The latest round of quantitative easing the federal government initiated was, once again, to "spur economic growth." This time, they promised to push unemployment below its years-long rate of 18%, but Winston was not particularly hopeful.

Yet the family had a lot for which to be thankful, Winston thought, before remembering it was a Day of Atonement. At least, he had his memories. He felt a twinge of sadness when he realized his children would never know what life was like in the Good Old Days, long before government promises to make life "fair for everyone" realized their full potential.

Winston, like so many of his fellow Americans, never realized how much things could change when they didn't happen all at once, but little by little, so people could get used to them.

He wondered what might have happened if the public had stood up while there was still time, maybe back around 2011, when all the real nonsense began. "Maybe we wouldn't be where we are today if we'd just said ‘enough is enough’ when we had the chance," he thought. Maybe so, Winston. Maybe so.

Navy SEAL Aaron Vaughn, who perished in Afghanistan over the weekend, had these two words tatoo'ed on his left arm. The same arm that was cradling his infant daughter, as shown in a photo posted today on The Blaze.

With these two words, two concepts were verbalized that have lived for nearly two and a half Millennia. They signify and characterize both the heart of the Warrior, and the indomitable spirit of mankind.

In 480 B.C. the forces of the Persian Empire under King Xerxes, numbering, according to Herodotus, two million men, bridged the Hellespont and marched in their myriads to invade and enslave Greece.
King Leonidas of Sparta and another Greek city-state agreed to help stop the invading Persians, and marched with 300 hand-picked troops to Thermopylae on the north coast of Greece. Thermopylae was the best of three possible defensive areas in which Xerxes' invading army had to advance. After days of fighting and having killed countless numbers of Xerxes' elite troops, they were finally overrun after being betrayed by a traitor who showed the enemy another pass behind the defenders.

King Leonidas, his Spartans and their Thespian allies died to the last man. Xerxes marched on and destroyed Athens. The standard of valor set by this sacrifice inspired the Greeks to rally and, in that fall and spring, defeat the Persians at Salamis and Plataea and preserve the beginnings of Western democracy and freedom from perishing in the cradle.

The traitors who betrayed our SEALs, who aided and abetted their enemies, are legion: the current administration, senior military leaders and their civilian counterparts, and of course, the press.

The amount of information released during and after the Osama bin Laden raid was breathtaking in scope and criminal in content, if not intent. And with this administration, intent is always in question.

Every person who spoke "on condition of anonymity," or "off the record," or "on background," who provided details as thinly veiled speculation; and our illustrious Vice President who publicly outed SEAL Team Six as the unit responsible for killing bin Laden during his remarks at a formal event at Washington's Ritz Carlton Hotel...

... if the helicopter was targeted in retaliation for bin Laden's death, then EVERYONE who provided information about the raid are complicit in the death of Aaron Vaughn and his fellow SEALs and Special Forces members. And they are responsible for the elevated threat against all SEAL team members and their families.

Our service members were betrayed by a traitor as surely as were Leonidas and The 300.

Do not let Congress compromise with Obama. "The Compromise" is against everything the House Republican Leadership agreed to in the "Pledge to America." This type of behind closed door politics is not what "We the People" voted for in November.

Here are the reasons why this tax bill must be opposed as outlined by Hugh Hewitt in TownHall.com:

"The Deal" was forged in secret, without consultation with the scores of new representatives and senators who campaigned on a much different agenda- much less with their supporters and contributors who worked for two years and gave vast sums of money so that a new start could be made, one built on transparency and principle.

"The Deal" like Obamacare, isn't reduced to writing even now, when Senator Reid says a vote could be held on Saturday. Like Obamacare, we are being told we will have to pass the bill to find out what is in it.

"The Deal" revives the death tax, an immoral "vampire tax" that sucks the blood from the dead, ruins family businesses and double taxes savings that were accumulated over a lifetime. It took ten years of gradual step downs to eliminate the tax, and now "The Deal" revives it at 35% with a $5 million dollar exemption, a rate that looks and feels permanent and which will immediately impact tens of thousands of families in 2011 and when inflation works its way into the system, thousands more over time. The GOP has spent years making the case against the death tax on moral and economic grounds, and in the course of a weekend of secret meetings, it gave that issue away.

"The Deal" spends billions and billions of dollars that the country does not have in order to prevent a tax hike that the country voted against. In essence the GOP bribed the president to follow the will of the people. There is at least $75 billion in new spending in the plan, agreed to by the GOP less than 5 weeks after the country fairly screamed "Stop Spending Our Children's Money!"

On September 23, all of the House GOP leadership agreed to the "Pledge to America ." A photo op was arranged at the Tart Lumber store in Sterling, Virginia, and the senior leaders of the would-be majority, with their shirt sleeves rolled up, took the pledge and asked America for the majority back. There are at least five provisions of the Pledge that are violated by "The Deal." In September the House GOP promised to:

"Permanently Stop All Job-Killing Tax Hikes" (p. 16)
"Act immediately to Reduce Spending" (p. 21)
"Cut Government Spending to Pre-Stimulus, Pre-Bailout Levels" (p. 21)
"Read the Bill" (p. 33)
"Advance Legislative Issues One at a Time" (p. 33)

The assault of "The Deal" on "The Pledge" will make the latter a joke, and instantly impacts the credibility of all future efforts to propose agendas to the electorate.

The idea that this massive tax and spend bill has not yet even been written but may be voted on by the Senate this weekend is appalling, and has rightfully drawn the anger of the TeaPartyPatriots.org and other Tea Party activists, an anger that will not diminish.

Antonyms for the TSA: democracy, freedom, liberty, representative government, equality, emancipation, republic, egalitarianism.

Terrorism
1. the use of violence and threats to intimidate or coerce, especially for political purposes.
2. the state of fear and submission produced by terrorism or terrorization.
3. a terroristic method of governing or of resisting a government.

People are intimated, coerced and in a state of fear and submission based upon TSA actions and threats.

I fly for business several times each month and am concerned about TSA's new "enhanced security" methods for several reasons: safety, privacy, ineffective procedures, and most importantly, the procedures are a violation of my Fourth Amendment rights.

The Backscatter X-Ray Scanners, aka Porno Scanners have not been adequately tested for health impact and the safety data cited is provided by the machine's manufacturers' and government contractors who are in many cases, former administration officials. Providers of the machines have a vested financial interest in their deployment.

The imaging amounts to a virtual strip search and invasion of my privacy. Photos from machines used in an Orlando, Florida courthouse have already been leaked online. TSA and other government agencies have issued conflicting data concerning whether or not images can be saved, in what manner, for how long, who has access, and how images can be dissiminated.

The "enhanced pat-down", also referred to as Love Pats by idiot Senator Claire McCaskill (democrat, Missouri) are invasive, aggressive, ineffective, and would be considered sexual assault if attempted in any other venue.

Neither search method, Backscatter Scanners or Enhanced Pat Downs will detect materials carried within a body cavity. These new procedures are merely a display of power, a political theater that will not enhance security and will anesthetize the American people to further unwarranted searches in other areas of our daily activities.

Security measures currently in place and newly introduced do not work.

Individuals targeted by the No Fly List are allowed on airplanes (the Christmas Day attempt by the underwear bomber), CAIR (Council on American Islamic Relations) demands that women in hajib or burka NOT be screened or touched in any way, fear of retribution in our senior military leadership allow Major Hassan to remain on active duty and massacre dozens of American servicemen and citizens. And on, and on, and on. All in the name of political correctness.

Yet we are asked -- no, TOLD -- to believe that virtually strip searching granny, physically searching a three-year old child, patting down a teenage girl (by a male agent), injuring a person with disabilities (stomach feeding tube and ostomy nightmares), or making a sexual abuse survivor submit to a stranger's assault... all actions and assaults perpetrated by ill-trained, minimally educated, and often arrogant individuals who are wearing the uniform of a TSA agent and wielding the full power of the State against the Citizen, we are supposed to believe that these actions will make us safer.

We do have recourse. Record your encounters with TSA (although some airports have made the act of recording agents a crime in itself). Politely, to avoid arrest, tell your screening agent what you think of their behavior by using various descriptive adjectives. We can destroy their morale and help initiative a revolt from within the TSA agent ranks.

Excerpt from TechDirt.com, comments from TSA agents regarding their role in the enhanced pat downs as well as comments directed at them by travelers:

"It is not comfortable to come to work knowing full well that my hands will be feeling another man’s private parts, their butt, their inner thigh. Even worse is having to try and feel inside the flab rolls of obese passengers and we seem to get a lot of obese passengers!"

"'Molester, pervert, disgusting, an embarrassment, creep'. These are all words I have heard today at work describing me, said in my presence as I patted passengers down. These comments are painful and demoralizing, one day is bad enough, but I have to come back tomorrow, the next day and the day after that to keep hearing these comments. If something doesn’t change in the next two weeks I don’t know how much longer I can withstand this taunting. I go home and I cry. I am serving my country, I should not have to go home and cry after a day of honorably serving my country."

Individual agents should be charged with felony sexual assault. Regional directors should be named in class action lawsuits. And TSA Director John Pistole and Homeland Security Director Janet Napolitano should be charged with High Crimes and Misdemeanors against the American people in their blatant disregard for our Fourth Amendment rights.

For those who say that the screening is necessary in a Post-9/11 world. Yes, screening and security measures are necessary. But they must WORK. The methods in place now are reactionary not revolutionary and they explicitly avoid a proven method in long use, specifically by the Israelis: PROFILING, BEHAVIORAL ASSESSMENT AND INTERVIEWING.

Until the United States Government abandons its assine and treasonous affectation that profiling is not acceptable, then Innocents will continue to be treated as terrorists, while the true threats to our Nation walk through the security lines unaccosted.

And their leaders laugh as our Liberty is traded for a (false) security.

Today was a victory for Liberty!!!! Congratulations! Victories across the country happened because of your hard work and your dedication to our core values, our Constitution, and our country! Your efforts to spread our message throughout the country have resonated with millions of Americans! Time after time you melted the phone lines, showed up at rallies, made signs, protested outside of Congressmen and Senator’s offices, lobbying the halls of Congress, and so much more. Each and every time you took one of these actions our message spread further throughout the country.

On the night of the final health care vote in the House of Representatives, so many of you were in DC protesting, while millions more were emailing, calling and faxing their Representatives. You were disgusted that your government ignored your will so egregiously. For almost thirty six hours straight you stood against those who refused to listen. Those who were in DC, sang with hoarse voices, “We’ll Remember in November! Hey! Hey! Good Bye!” They thought that when November came you wouldn’t remember. But we did remember. And those who ignored you have paid the price. Take pleasure in this feeling of victory.

You deserve the accolades and you deserve take pleasure in this feeling. Tea Party Patriots wishes to extend a special thank you to Rick Santelli for his rant on February 19, 2009, which started this entire movement. Without Rick’s rant, this movement would never have started. Many others will try to take credit but don’t be fooled. He was the spark that began this fire.

Tea Party Patriots would also like to extend a special thank you to Top Conservatives on Twitter (#tcot), Smart Girl Politics (#sgp), and DontGo (#dontgo) for taking Santelli’s rant and actually acting on it. The leaders of these three organizations planned the original local coordinator conference call on February 20, 2009. They fanned the flames that Santelli lit to begin this movement and keep it going. Without their groundwork and vision, the movement would not have spread.

Finally, and most importantly, Tea Party Patriots thanks each and every one of you for being committed to our core values. Thank you for showing up time after time even when it seemed pointless and hopeless.

We will have legislative experts who will guide the freshmen on how to first defund and ultimately repeal government controlled health care. We will have economic experts to help them understand the things they will need to do to reduce the federal deficit and restore fiscal sanity to the country. We will have experts who can provide guidance on how to restore Constitutional governance to the country. We will help them to bond together to restore the Constitution in the upcoming legislative session. Watched our 2010 election countdown clock roll over to all zeros. Whoo Hoo!!! D-Day, Armageddon, Moment of Truth, Moment of Salvation... is finally here.

Actually turned the computer back on to add this because we just watched Hannity's repeat segment with Kirsten Powers and Margaret Hoover. Kirsten was defending socialism -- sorry, defending the Obama Administration -- with her pronouncements that "...the American people put healthcare at number three in their reasons for voting this election cycle". Margaret disagreed, of course, as do I.

Because how do you rank the top three reasons to vote against anyone who supports Obama's DNR (Do not Resuscitate) Plan for America?

Let's see... why should I vote for a Conservative Constitutionalist and against Obama and his minions?

Number One: Obama and his supporters believe in the Death of Liberty (forcing American citizens to purchase health insurance).

Number Two: Obama and his supporters believe in the Death of Free Markets (Government Motors, Financial Bailouts {"too big to fail" on steroids}, Student Loans, and on-and-on-and-on)

Number Three: Obama and his supporters believe in the Death of United States Sovereignty (OUR Justice Department sending in observers to monitor Arizona elections to insure illegal aliens are not harassed by American citizens who seek to prevent voter fraud).

Kirsten's statement that, "Healthcare reform ranks number three in importance in polling data" this election is disingenuous at best. Because how DOES one rate and rank the Death of a Nation???

I cannot answer that question, but I can provide the remedy.

Vote for the conservative candidate who supports the United States Constitution. Vote against any candidate who has EVER voted with or for any program put forth by Obama.

Deemed Unworthy by the GOP

I watched Karl Rove on O'Reilly tonight. Topic was whether Republicans would take the Senate. Rove addressed how many seats had to be taken, in what order as polls closed, and he bemoaned the fact that Republicans could fall one or two seats short.

And if that happens there is NO ONE to blame except the entrenched Republican elite hierarachy who deemed -- in spite of the PEOPLES' edict -- the elite class deemed that Christine O'Donnell was not worthy of support.

Combine that asinine choice with the Senate minority leadership decision to not strip Lisa Murkowski of her senior committee positions if she challenged the will of the majority of Alaska's Republican voters by running as a write-in candidate.

In each case, lack of support for O'Donnell in her Delaware primary win and continued support of Murkowski's leadership position, the REPUBLICAN ELITE will be the deciding factors in whether Republicans take the Senate majority. The actions of the Republican party hurt our chances of Senate victory exponentially more than any liberal attack could have hoped.

Because We the People have spoken. With our primary votes. With our monetary support. And with our continued grassroots support for conservative candidates. And we can still prevail in spite of long odds caused hugely by the entrenched Republican machine.

Delaware can still be won. Alaska can still be won. A Senate majority is still within reach.

Regardless of views about legitimacy... I will repeat a portion of an earlier post concerning Obama's cultural identity, from Once to Every Man and Nation. Apparently that post strikes a nerve, as it's received more antagonistic, juvenile and vulgar comments than any other on this blog.

But the president spent the most formative years of his childhood in the company of communists, invited into his home as beloved family members. He lived in a communist nation, Indonesia, still home to the largest muslim population in the world. His values do not align with those of most Americans; his cultural identity is not that of an American.

Can you imagine a controversy, concern or clamor over whether any other U. S. President would wear a headcovering in a Sikh (not muslim) temple? The confusion about this president's religion persists because of his actions, and lack thereof. From his affiliation and devotion to Reverend Jeremiah Wright, the tutelage of a communist mentor and Fellow Traveler mother, and his current affinity for the links vice the pews on Sunday mornings, his actions perpetuate the perception that he is not a Christian.

Really. The liberal left movies, books, photos and characterization of President Bush offended me, and millions of other Americans. As did their treatment of Ronald Reagan and other conservative leaders.

As does their continued use of the extremely LEWD (vulgar, obscene) use of the pejorative "Tea Bagger" when referring to TEA Party activists who are simply exercising our right to free speech and freedom of assembly in the service of our Nation.

It also offends me that the liberal left has threatened violence upon the owner of the billboard and his wife, simply because "progressives" do not like the message.

Truth hurts, doesn't it? And it will hurt even more November 2, 2010 and November 6, 2012.

I haven't been this excited, enthusiastic, energetic about voting since I cast my very first vote for Ronald Reagan. He was our only hope to replace, repeal and reform the failed policies of Jimmy (malaise) Carter.

What Does Victory for the TEA Party Look Like?

By all accounts, Republicans are on track to make major gains in Congress in November. Disenfranchised with the Democrats and energized by the Tea Party movement, voters appear to be prepared to give the Republican party a chance at governing for a while. Thus, the pendulum swings once more.

The question that needs to be asked, however, is what does victory for the Tea Party actually look like? Is victory simply defeating as many Democrats as possible in the fall election? Every Tea Party member and activist that I've spoken with adamantly decries any attempt to paint the movement as affiliated with the Republican party. So defining victory as obtaining Republican majorities would seem to run counter to their core philosophy.

Then is the measure of victory the number of incumbents that are thrown out of office, regardless of party? Here again, we find a contradiction since the Tea Party has appeared to embrace Senator Jim DeMint, Congressman John Boehner, as well as other incumbents. Measuring success by the number of Congressmen who are not returning, then, also appears to be off the table.

Additionally, it appears impossible to measure success by the ideology of the candidates, as the Tea Party is supporting candidates of various ideological stripes all across the country. Some support private accounts in Social Security, while some do not. Some have said that Social Security is unconstitutional and must be immediately ended; others consider it a vital safety net. The same differences appear on the social issues as well. Some are pro-life without exceptions, while some would allow abortions in almost every circumstance.

How, then, can anyone wake up on November 3rd and measure the electoral success of the Tea Party movement? Frankly, you cannot. The media will spin whatever happens on election day to advance their own interests. Both major parties will issue releases declaring victory in one form or another, with Republicans laying claim to a mandate from the electorate and the Democrats claiming that it could have been worse.

The reality is that the election results do not matter to the Tea Party’s victory. They have already won.

Others may claim victory because President Obama's agenda is dead or the Republican party is now more conservative or the Democrat party is a little less liberal. Each of these things are simply political concerns, changing with the political winds. They are the playthings of the establishment, not the tools of a revolution.

The Tea Party has won because it has begun the war to reclaim our nation's heritage.

The Tea Party has made our founding documents cool again. Average citizens are now reading the Federalist papers and discussing them with their friends. Conversations are happening all over the nation about the proper role of the federal government. While health care reform and the economic stimulus package were the real eye-openers for the public, citizens are now going back and examining things like education and welfare spending and questioning whether or not the federal government should be involved in these areas at all.

This national conversation is just now beginning, and it will take time to move from talking about reform to actually achieving it. As the movement matures, the conversation will begin to shift toward those reforms that can truly return America to greatness. It will move beyond single issues like eliminating ear marks or repealing the health care bill. It will begin talking about transforming Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid, about federal involvement in education, about tax codes, and about the proper size of our military.

We're not out of the woods yet, but the fact that the conversation has finally started at a national level is something that the Tea Party can already count as success, no matter what happens on November 2nd.

There's a relatively new billboard that I pass by almost daily. Its colors are washed out, the style is reminiscent of the 1930s WPA (Works Progress Adminstration) government posters and government-sponsored artwork. Apparently it resonates with the public, because Verizon Mobile has launched a new graphic, titled Rule the Air in a style that could be mistaken for WPA art.

Both ad campaigns disturb me in their simplicity and ties to another era, an era of desperation, cemented by a determination that only the federal goverment could provide the solution.

My formal education includes undergraduate degrees in psychology and communication; graduate in management. My professional endeavors have included training, marketing and communication. My avocation is history. My passion is politics. All influence my perception of everyday images.

The stylized Obama campaign poster drew heavily upon the WPA-style of art. The National Endowment for the Arts aggressively recruited artists to help propagandize the Obama message and agenda, using federal funds to finance. Andrew Breitbart exposed the effort and it was (supposedly) halted.

But the Feeding America poster, the Rule the Air campaign, and many other images we are exposed to daily, set the tone of depression and desperation -- in message -- and in medium.

Are my observations subjective? Yes.
Are the messages subliminal. Perhaps.
Is the effort synchronized with a progressive agenda? Undoubtedly.

The White House is considering national advertisements depicting TEA Party members as extremists in an effort to energize its base. This following Obama's remarks to an entirely black coalition this weekend, urging members to "Protect the Change." We hear accusations of racism constantly, yet Obama and his surrogates are always the ones who see -- and USE -- color as a weapon of derision and division.

As a co-founder of Patriots 28560, a TEA Party group, I can attest to having the great privilege of meeting nothing but polite, kind, compassionate and concerned fellow citizens. Always respectful of others and of our great Founders and Founding Documents. And always passionate.

If the White House pursues this stategy, of attack upon The TEA Party and by extension, an attack upon you and I, average citizens who simply want to guarantee the future of our great Nation, if the democratic political machine adopts this orchestrated, negative campaign... then they will be cementing their loss of both Houses of Congress November 2.

Principles, or Politics as Usual? NRSC Refuses to Support O'Donnell

I watched Karl Rove on Hannity last night and was disgusted by his pettiness, petulance, and political deafness when discussing the repercussions of Christine O'Donnell's (Delaware) primary win last night.

How dare the political elites of the Republican party try and negate "We the People's" choice in a Republican primary.

How dare they empower the opponents of our founding principles and Constitution by employing the same politics of division and class warfare that are used to such effect by the party currently in power.

How dare they withhold Republican funding from a duly elected Republican candidate when those funds were solicited from Republican donors.

How dare they run a certifiable northeastern RINO, who voted for Cap and Trade, voted for the Stimulus Package, voted for legislation that would have allowed for the investigation and impeachment of President George W. Bush... then after trying to hobble us with such a candidate, accuse US of being the cause of their predictions of loss in the general election.

How dare they present an aged insider as "change" for Delaware and for our Nation. Those who read this blog know I have the greatest respect for my elders, for our Greatest Generation, for the experience gained by age. But this year, this election, the specter of the aged Castle, shuffling toward the camera in one widely played video, Castle's image conjures a Nation in decline.

And how dare they roll out the same old tired, fear-mongering mantra of "If you vote on principle, you'll never gain the majority. It's better to elect a Republican and have the majority, then work to effect change from that position of power."

Because we all know that's worked so well with Susan Collins and Olympia Snowe. Conservatives can count on those two Castle-mold RINOs to support the Constitution, to block socialist Supreme Court nominees, and to interpret the General Welfare Clause in favor of We the People rather than We the Statists. Yes, of course, conservatives should have absolutely bowed to the Republican elites' choice of candidate.

I have already donated to Christine O'Donnell's campaign.

I have donated to many candidates over this primary season, bypassing the NRSC (National Republican Senatorial Committee) and GOP and empowering individual candidates directly. I will make my voice heard beyond North Carolina, with my cash, with my time, and with this blog.

I consider every Republican attack on a conservative, Constitutionalist candidate to be an attack on MY values, MY choices, and MY determination to turn our Nation back to its founding principles.

Stand firm on principles and our Nation wins in November.

While the focus on this ninth anniversary of the terrorist attacks should be upon those who perished, and their loved ones who go on alone, Americans must never forget the events of 911. And never forget the perpetrators target us still.

I was in New York City the week before the attack, for a marketing conference. On Sunday, September 9, I took the opportunity to sightsee, making the Circle Line Tour to Ellis Island and visiting Lady Liberty. I chose to walk back to my hotel, traveling through the shadows of the World Trade Center Twin Towers. Two days later I watched in horror as the terrorists found their targets.

I returned to the City early November and walked from Grand Central Station to Ground Zero. There were literally thousands of us, heading south, preferring to walk rather than take a taxi. We were sharing where we were from and where we were the day of the attacks. The mood was respectful and reserved, quiet, but still conversational.

As we moved closer to Ground Zero we could smell the odor of burnt... everything. Our conversations quieted. When we got within a few blocks, we began to see manhole covers blown off, debris, destruction. All conversation stopped. Many wept openly, including me. It was hard to breathe, and not just because of the smell and heaviness of the air.

Somewhere between Grand Central and Ground Zero we changed from Americans visiting the site of our Nation's worst attack since Pearl Harbor... to Americans making a pilgrimage to show respect to those who perished.

American Arrogance or American Exceptionalism

It's not Memorial Day, or Veterans' Day, or Armed Forces Day. But there is an email going around entitled American Arrogance and embedded with still images of American cemeteries overseas. Photos available here on another Patriots blog.

My father was a WWII veteran, Army Air Corps -- B24 ball turret gunner with over 50 missions, flying out of Benghazi, Libya -- he went on to retire from the United States Air Force. We were stationed in France in the '60s and my earliest memories are of visiting American cemeteries to honor those who never came home. My uncle's name is inscribed on the Tablets of the Missing, North Africa American Cemetery, Carthage, Tunisia.

So why am I writing this now?

Because I've visited almost all the American cemeteries in France, Belgium and The Netherlands, as a child, and as an adult. I've been humbled by the sheer numbers of graves and by the many, many people, of all nationalities, who visit to also pay tribute. I've stood in silence in The Hague as an entire nation came to a stop to honor their American liberators.

And I've had to watch and listen and endure an American President who, in superb arrogance, has traveled the world offering apologies for our Nation.

The Hartford City Council is reconsidering its proposal to have local imams perform Islamic invocations at the beginning of council meetings in September.

Council President rJo Winch called a news conference Wednesday to address the uproar over the proposal she supported Tuesday.

In an email sent out by the City Council on Tuesday called the plan "an act of solidarity with our Muslim brothers and sisters."

But since a story was posted on NBCConnecticut.com, Winch and other council members said they have received numerous complaints and even some hate emails over the decision to begin the meetings with Muslim prayers.

"Where is the separation between church and state?," wrote one anonymous reader. "Why not an act of solidarity with your New York City American brothers and sisters who were attacked on 9/11?," wrote another.

The email from the City Council referenced the ongoing battle over a proposed mosque in New York. "One of the goals of the Council is to give a voice to the many diverse peoples of the City, which is especially important given the recent anti-Islam events throughout the country," the email read.

Although the council does say a prayer before every meeting, Winch says she's reconsidering the idea of the Muslim prayers so close to the anniversary of the September 11 attacks. She instead said she would consider an interfaith prayer before next Monday's meeting.

"There might be 20 different faiths there on that day because, I understand his position, we have to understand we live in a multicultural city and there are 125,000 residents here so we don't want to have anyone be offended," Winch said.

That idea, however didn't sit well with Council Minority Leader Luis Cotto, the council member who originally made the proposal to ask the imams to perform the invocations. Cotto said he had no problem with the timing of the proposal. "I thought that doing this in September or at the next meeting, which happens to be September, makes sense, and I still do," Cotto said.

Local Islamic leaders were also not happy about Winch's apparent backtracking. "We feel as though it would be a step backwards because it would be labeling me as part of the problem that took place on 9/11 and we had nothing to do with that," Imam Kashif Abdul-Karim said. Abdul-Karim was scheduled to perform the invocation at the Sept. 13 City Council meeting.

He said he plans to be at City Hall Monday to say the prayer.

In the wake of the battle over a mosque at Ground Zero, a move by Hartford City Council is sure to have its critics.

The Council announced Tuesday that it has invited local imams to perform Islamic invocations at the beginning of the Council meetings in September.

Though meetings don't regularly begin with any form of prayer, an email from the Common Council called it "an act of solidarity with our Muslim brothers and sisters."

The email even referenced the ongoing issue in New York. "One of the goals of the Council is to give a voice to the many diverse peoples of the City, which is especially important given the recent anti-Islam events throughout the country."

Council President rJo Winch called it an important move for the Council. "I feel it is very important that, as a Council, we project a culture of inclusiveness in the City of Hartford. Too often it is our differences that divide us. In my opinion, it is our combination of differences that makes us strong," Winch said.

The City of Hartford website prominently displays a "Hartford 375 Years" logo. If they welcome Sharia law, they won't survive another 10. And every move like this, by any state, county, or city, sets a legal precedent that will allow judges to legislate from the bench and extend that precedent to every American, regardless of our location. We must stop this now.
